About

At BoostYourBlog.com I share practical tips and guides to help you succeed as a blogger.

I’ve had jobs in SEO and digital marketing at certain times, but for the most part, I’ve been a full-time self-employed blogger (primarily through Indie Traveller).

Over the years I learned a lot about blogging, content creation, affiliate marketing, and making money online. In order to shamelessly monetize this knowledge share my insights freely with the world, I started Boost Your Blog.

Blogging is a constant learning process and no two blogs are ever the same. So if you have experiences of your own to share, I’d love to read your comments.

About my other blogs

My blogging experience comes from a bunch of different projects. I’ve been running sites and blogs in one form or another since 1996. (Fun fact: I launched my very first site at age 14 about my favorite video game: The Secret of Monkey Island.)

My main blog, Indie Traveller, has been going strong for over 10 years now. It happily earns me a 6-figure income.

I love the travel niche as it is the perfect enabler for my travel addiction. It’s nice when you can justify your silly travel adventures as, umm, serious work. While travel is a highly competitive topic, in terms of lifestyle advantages I can’t think of a better one.

I travelled year-round for a while, but these days I spend several months each year exploring new destinations, and the other months at home turning my travel experiences into content.

Prior to Indie Traveller, I owned or co-owned several websites related to video games. One of them became the absolute authority in its niche. It was monetized through ads, affiliate, as well as an e-commerce channel (which I co-developed with a games distributor). I sold the gaming site in 2016 to focus solely on travel blogging.

In 2023, I’m branching out again by launching two other smaller niche sites. (One of which you’re reading right now.)

I’m from The Netherlands, I used to live in the UK, and am now based in Lisbon, Portugal.
